Profound Pricing in 2026: Plans, Trial and What Changed

Profound shows a free 7-day trial and a custom Enterprise plan for brands, plus a $99 agency plan. Dated plan details, what changed and published-price options.

For a brand, Profound costs nothing for a 7-day trial and then a custom Enterprise price that you get from a demo. The pricing page shows no dollar amount for brands. Last checked 1 November 2026 on the Profound pricing page.

Agencies see a different view of the same page. It lists an Agency Growth plan at $99 a month plus add-ons, and each full client workspace costs $399 a month. The $99 Starter and $399 Growth plans for brands, which many reviews still quote, are gone.

Disclosure: we build CitePrism, an AI visibility tool that competes with Profound. Every fact about Profound in this post comes from Profound’s own pages or from a named, dated third-party source. Prices change often. Profound’s page is the source of truth.

Profound’s plans today

The pricing page has two views: “For brands” and “For agencies”. The tables below show both. Last checked 1 November 2026.

What changed, and when

On 24 August 2026, the same pricing page listed three plans for brands:

  • Starter: $99 a month, billed yearly. ChatGPT only, 50 prompts, 1 seat.
  • Growth: $399 a month. 3 engines, 100 prompts.
  • Enterprise: custom. Up to 9 engines, SSO and an API.

By 1 October 2026, Starter and Growth no longer appeared. The brand view showed only the free Trial and custom Enterprise. A third-party review from Trakkr, a competitor, dates the removal to mid-September 2026 (verified by Trakkr on 17 September 2026). That is the same month Profound announced a $180M Series D at a $1.8B valuation (Profound newsroom, 15 September 2026).

Two more details show on the page on 1 November 2026:

  • Trial prompts are fixed. The pricing FAQ says Trial users “cannot customize their prompts”. You get a recommended set for your industry.
  • The Trial lists Agent Analytics. This is Profound’s view of AI-sourced traffic to your domains, with integrations such as Cloudflare, Vercel and Google Analytics.

The client workspace add-on looks like the old Growth plan: $399 a month for 100 prompts on 3 engines. The difference is that you now buy it through the agency plan, not as a brand.

Why reviews show old prices

Many review pages were written before mid-September 2026. They still describe the $99 Starter and $399 Growth plans for brands. Some third-party pages also disagree with Profound’s own page on the trial. For example, the Trakkr page above describes the trial as “10 prompts, ChatGPT only”. The official page says 50 prompts on 3 engines. When a review and the official page disagree, trust the official page and check the date on the review.

What you get on the trial vs Enterprise

The trial is a 7-day look at Profound’s reports. It is not a working plan:

  • Engines: 3 on the trial (ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews). Up to 9 on Enterprise.
  • Prompts: 50 recommended prompts that you cannot edit. Enterprise prompts are custom, and you can edit, disable or add them.
  • Data: no history, no exports and no API on the trial. Enterprise has all-time history, CSV and JSON export, and an API.
  • Security: no SSO on the trial. Enterprise lists SSO, SAML and SOC 2.
  • After 7 days: the page offers one next step for brands: a demo for Enterprise.

What this means for a small team

If you are a small brand team, Profound has no plan with a published price for you today. You can run the 7-day trial and see the reports on a fixed prompt set. To keep tracking, you need a sales conversation and a custom contract.

The agency plan is built for agencies that pitch and manage clients. The page does not say whether a single brand can buy it. If it can, our arithmetic says one client workspace tracked daily costs at least $99 + $399 = $498 a month, for 100 prompts on 3 engines.

So the practical question for a small team is budget. If a custom enterprise contract is in budget, Profound’s Enterprise plan has real strengths: up to 9 engines, SSO, SOC 2 and an API. If it is not, look at tools that publish their prices.

FAQ

How much does Profound cost?

For brands, Profound has a free 7-day trial and a custom Enterprise plan. The pricing page shows no dollar amount for Enterprise, so the price comes from a demo and a sales conversation. For agencies, the page lists Agency Growth at $99 a month plus add-ons, with full client workspaces at $399 a month each. Last checked 1 November 2026.

Does Profound have a free trial?

Yes. The trial is free for 7 days. It runs 50 unique prompts daily on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, with unlimited seats. The prompts are a recommended set for your industry, and you cannot edit them. The trial has no data history, no exports and no API. Last checked 1 November 2026.

Does Profound still have a $99 plan?

Not for brands. The $99 Starter plan for brands no longer appears on the pricing page, and a third-party review dates its removal to mid-September 2026. The page does show a $99 a month Agency Growth plan for agencies. It includes 10 short pitch workspaces a month, and each full client workspace costs $399 a month extra. Last checked 1 November 2026.

How much does Profound Enterprise cost?

Profound does not publish an Enterprise price. The page says “Custom” and “Tailored packages”, and the next step is a demo. Enterprise includes up to 9 engines, custom prompt counts, all-time history, exports, an API, SSO and SOC 2.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Profound?

Yes, if you need a published price. On list prices last checked 1 October 2026, Otterly.AI Lite costs $29 a month, HubSpot AEO $50 and Trakkr Growth $100. AthenaHQ has a free plan. CitePrism, which we build, is free on your own API keys, and Pro costs $29 a month. Each tool covers different engines and prompt counts, so compare the entry plan, not the top plan. Our Profound alternatives list compares 10 of them.

Why do review sites show different Profound prices?

Most of them were written before mid-September 2026, when Profound removed its $99 and $399 plans for brands. Some also describe the trial differently from Profound’s own page. Check the date on any review, and read the official pricing page before you decide.
