1) Use search-style questions
Write some prompts the way people type them into Google, next to the longer questions they ask chat assistants.
Google answers many questions with an AI Overview above the links, and AI Mode answers in a full conversation. Neither has a public API. CitePrism reads the answer the Google product shows for your buyer questions, then records whether it named you, where, and which sources it linked.
Google AI Overviews and AI Mode exist only inside Google Search. To measure them, CitePrism reads the answer as the product shows it, on the same schedule and prompt set as the API engines.
AI Overviews and AI Mode get the same prompts and detection rules as the five other engines, so you can compare them directly.
In each Google answer, CitePrism checks whether it names your brand and your competitors, and in what order.
Overviews link their sources. The domains that recur are the pages Google leans on for your category.
How it works
Write some prompts the way people type them into Google, next to the longer questions they ask chat assistants.
Every run checks AI Overviews and AI Mode next to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot.
Where Google names a rival and not you, open the linked sources. Those pages are your work list.
No. Results change by location, account and time, and no tool can see what individual searchers see. CitePrism samples: it runs your questions on a schedule and reads the answer the Google product shows. The numbers describe a pattern over many runs, not the screen of any one person.
An AI Overview is a short AI summary at the top of a normal Google results page, shown for some questions and not others. AI Mode is a separate view that answers in a longer, conversational reply and takes follow-up questions. CitePrism tracks them as two engines because their answers can differ. When Google shows no Overview for a question, that run counts as an answer that does not name you.
Because a top organic position does not guarantee a mention in the Overview above it. The Overview picks its own sources and its own brands. Tracking shows whether your position turns into a mention, or whether a competitor or a review site takes that space.
Yes. All seven engines are on every plan, Free included. On Free you add your own keys: model keys for the API engines (about $0.046 per prompt across the four API engines, measured August 2026) and a key for reading the Google answers, which its provider prices per request. Pro, from $29 a month, runs on CitePrism keys with a daily included usage amount.
